unique jewellery & flatware by artisan
felicity chappel-bragg

I have designed and handcrafted jewellery and flatware for clients and art galleries in Northern New South Wales for 16 years. Overseas travels, the immersion of different cultures and tribal arts and crafts, inspire me to design, create and handcraft pieces of silver ware unique and eclectic.

The beauty of nature has a huge influence in my designs and I enjoy playing around with mixed elements like drift wood, beach stones, birds nests, sticks and lichen. Home is inspiration, family; that's where the heart is, and it's in the beautiful woodland in which we live.

From silver or stone, wood or natural fibre, comes to life, a bracelet, bowl, spoon, earrings, necklace or ring.

My flatware is aesthetic and functional,

becoming a conversation piece around the kitchen table with friends and loved ones. Whether it be pouring tea through the strainer, stirring coffee with a spoon, getting those stubborn olives out of the jar with a pickle fork or slotted spoon, they are a delight to have in the heart of the home.

I was instructed by Russian sculptor, jeweller and silversmith Inessa Fomenko before setting out to establish my own creative venture from my woodland studio/workshop in the New England.

Each piece is individually handcrafted from 100% Recycled Sterling Silver and natural elements. No two items are the same.

They are made from the heart and full of soul ~ far from the mass produced jewellery market.

neckpieces

I love to use big chunks of reclaimed semi-precious stone and manipulate silver in way that creates distinctive piece of jewellery that symbolises strength and confidence.
Wearing an amulet is said to bring the wearer good luck and protect from harm and troubles.

bracelets

The earliest known forms of body adornment date as far back as 7000 years ago, but to hazard a guess I think it goes back further before precious metals were discovered. Indigenous people were using plant and animal fibres to adorn their bodies, symbolising their status in community.

earrings

The history of wearing earring goes way back and is one of the earliest known forms of body adornment. I love wearing earrings, they make me feel confident. They tell us many things about our personality.

rings

As with earrings, the history of wearing rings also goes a long way back, approx 6000 years ago. The earliest found in Egypt 2500BC.

Wedding rings are worn on the fourth finger, left hand and is said to connect to the vein of love; a vein that is directly linked to the heart.

Thumb rings were worn by archers to protect their thumb from the arrow fired. You can tell many things about a person depending on what they wear on their hand!

flatware

My flatware is designed with nature in mind, blending aesthetics and functionality, adding enjoyment to kitchen culture.
